  • The ‘Group B’ International Motorsports Category was conceived in the late 1970s as a return to the ‘good old days’ when amateur and factory teams alike could run the same production-based cars in either sports car racing or championship rally events. By the early 1980s the class had become the ‘Godzilla’ of the rally scene and what resulted were the most awesome cars ever seen on the rally stages of the world - 600 horsepower, 4WD, turbocharged monsters that could cover forest, tarmac or gravel stages faster than anything ever seen before or since. One such "Group B" monster was Ford's own supercar, the RS200 and it was destined to be the most successful of the Group B category if the FIA hadn't banned the category. This t-shirt from the powersport gods collection is our tribute to an iconic Group B rally legend.   • Round six of the 1991 World Bike GP Championship at Hockenheim featured a truly breathtaking battle for supremacy in the 500cc class and Wayne Rainey (Marlboro Yamaha) and Kevin Schwantz (Lucky Strike Suzuki) took the race down to the wire as they pushed themselves and their mighty two-stroke machines to the absolute limit! On the final lap with only a few corners left to make his move, Schwantz made a spectacular late-braking pass on Rainey to take the lead and the race win. Schwantz was later famously quoted as saying that he had to “See God, then brake”, such was the level of bravery and faith required to make such an audacious overtake on his rival. This new t-shirt design is our tribute to two motorcycle racing legends and to one of the great Bike Grand Prix battles of the two-stroke racing era! In 1978, multiple World Champion Mike Hailwood returned to the iconic 37.73-mile TT course, after a self-imposed 11 year absence from the world famous circuit. Few doubted Hailwood still possessed the legendary skill which had brought him 12 TT wins, but a comeback at 38, after more than a decade away, was still a daunting prospect. With a fine handling, but under-powered Ducati V-Twin at his disposal, Mike the Bike went head-to-head with fellow great Phil Read, riding the much faster 4 cylinder Honda in the opening race of the TT festival. Amazingly, Hailwood roared to victory in the Formula One race. This new t-shirt in our 'Powersport Legends' range is our tribute to the late, great 'Mike the Bike' Hailwood.
